Thibaut Courtois is making Chelsea sweat in his summer stand-off over a new contract with the Blues now ready to offer him £10m a year.

The Belgium international was due to agree fresh terms with the Blues this summer to extend his deal beyond its current 2019 end date.

Thibaut Courtois is said to have constantly stalled talks and is instead waiting until the last minute before committing, however, as he first wants to see how much international teammate Romelu Lukaku is paid should he join from Everton.

Everton striker Lukaku can expect to trouser around £200,000 a week if his £80million return to Stamford Bridge goes through.

While playmaker Hazard — already on £200,000 a week — will be in line for a significant increase on that £10m-a-year basic if he gets a new deal.

Courtois has won two Premier League titles and one League Cup since replacing Petr Cech as Chelsea’s first-choice keeper in 2014.

Courtois has two seasons left on his current £80,000-a-week terms.
