A lot of television shows will be making their way back to the screens and some will be making their debut for the first time this August. New batches of television shows that are almost better than what you have seen will make their way to Netflix and television simultaneously.

Here are some of the television shows that are on their way to Netflix this August.

Icarus – August 4

Icarus will debut on August 4 and it is based on the travails of filmmaker and biker Bryan Fogel, as he attempts to beat anti-doping tests. This leads him to become mired in conspiracies that threatens to bring everything crashing down.

As Bryan Fogel proceeds to be successful at getting away with doping, he befriends the man who runs Russia’s doping program, Dr. Grigory Rodchenkov, who makes it known to him that a lot of intrigues are playing behind the scenes including the mysterious disappearance of some of his colleagues.

This crime and sport documentary premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January.

Naked – August 11

Naked is a romantic comedy that stats Marlon Wayans as Rob Anderson, a man set to marry the girl of his dreams, but can’t quite get to the altar. He finds himself caught in a time loop where he is forced to relive the same day over and over again, waking up naked in a hotel elevator.

Directed by Michael Tiddes, who previously collaborated with Wayans on A Haunted House and its sequel, Naked is based on a Swedish film released in the year 2000. Regina Hall, Scott Foley, and Brian McKnight co-star in the flick, which will debut on August 11.

Atypical – August 11

Atypical is a low key family comedy series which stars Jennifer Jason Leigh and follows the story of Sam (Keir Gilchrist), a teenager on the autism spectrum, who has decided he is ready for romance. In order to start dating and hopefully find love, Sam will need to be more independent, which also sends his mother Elsa (Jennifer Jason Leigh) on her own life-changing path.

The transition is however not easy as it forces both Sam and his mother to grapple with change while Sam searches for love and independence. Michael Rapaport, Brigette Lundy-Paine, Raul Castillo and Amy Okuda co-star.

Marvel’s The Defenders – August 18

Marvel’s The Defenders will bring together Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) as the Four heroes realize they need to work as a team to achieve their common goal of saving New York City. Their main problem is the diabolical villain named Alexandra (Sigourney Weaver), who’s relation with the mysterious and ancient organization known as The Hand creates problems for the heroes.

The first season will consist of eight episodes, and will be released on August 18.

Death Note – August 25

Death Note is a supernatural horror film directed by Adam Wingard, and is based on the iconic manga series that first debuted in 2003.

The Netflix original movie Death Note tells the story of Light Turner (Nat Wolff), a Seattle high school student who comes to possess a notebook dropped to Earth by Ryuk (Willem Dafoe), a god of death who handles all the killing.

Turner decides to use the notebook to become a vigilante, but his run might not last long as a detective named, L (Lakeith Stanfield) is determined to uncover the source behind the killings. Death Note is expected to on August 25, and it will definitely be worth watching.
