Pep Guardiola has no plans of letting his English star forward leave, as he plans on holding on to Raheem Sterling.

The 22-year-old England international was expected to leave the club for Arsenal, with Sanchez moving the other way, but the deal never came to fruition.

Guardiola, however, stated last month that the club would not be selling him. Sterling has impressed so far this season, scoring five goals in the league.

And after his brace against Crystal Palace, Guardiola says he has developed into a key player for the Citizens.

“Raz is staying here,” he said. “The club trust him – that is why we have invested a lot of money in him.

“The players we have are going to stay. If they want to leave they are going to leave, but he wants to stay.

“If players want to leave they have to ask the chairman, but there is no chance of that, he is going nowhere.”
