Tony Bellew believes David Haye’s warm approach towards him is all an act and has promised to send him into retirement, when they face in December.
The Bomber will face the Hayemaker for the second time , after he thrashed the two-weight boxer earlier in the year.
Haye insists he has a newfound respect for the Merseysider, who beat him back in March in the 11th round, but Bellew does not agree with him
“I don’t believe he respects me at all,” Bellew told Sky Sports News. “This is an act, what he’s doing now. He’s doing a great job to be fair. He has said in the past he wants to be an actor, so he’s just done a fantastic job on the stage. He’s got my applause.
“He doesn’t rate me as a fighter, I know. He actually slipped up halfway through there. He said he didn’t underestimate me last time, so if he didn’t underestimate me last time – he said I was the worst world champion ever. He said he was going to drill me to the floor within a couple of rounds.”
“He will have nowhere to go after losing to me,” said the former WBC cruiserweight champion. “He might reinvent himself again. He might even give something like wrestling a go, because he is a fantastic promoter of fights.
“He knows how to push a fight, but in regards to boxing, I will finish him on December 17.”
