Real Madrid want to sign Spain internationals Kepa Arrizabalaga and Alvaro Odriozola before next summer’s World Cup, reports AS.

The club are set to continue their policy of recruiting the best young Spanish players by making moves for goalkeeper Kepa, 23, and right-back Odriozola, 21. They are planning on signing the former in January and the latter at the end of the season.

Kepa is out of contract at Athletic Bilbao in June and Real are willing to activate his €20m buyout clause to secure his services next month. However, Athletic haven’t given up on trying to persuade him to sign a new contract at San Mames.

Madrid are aware that defender Odriozola wants to move to the Bernabeu, but Real Sociedad will not let him leave for less than the value of his €40m buyout clause.

The arrival of Kepa at the Bernabeu would result in Kiko Casilla being allowed to leave Madrid, while the signing of Odriozola would prompt the European champions to loan out youngster Achraf Hakimi.
