No less than five persons were killed with 39 others injured as a suicide bomber detonated a bomb at an internally displaced persons (IDPs) camp in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, on Wednesday.

Speaking with newsmen, the Chairman, Borno State Emergency Management Agency, Mr. Ahmed Satomi, said a female suicide bomber infiltrated the IDPs camp and detonated an explosive, killing herself and five other persons, while 39 others were wounded.

He said the second suicide bomber detonated improvised explosive device at the entrance of Dalori residential quarters and blew herself to pieces.

According to him, there is no casualty in the second attack, addeding that those wounded had been taken to the Specialist Hospital, Maiduguri.

However, in his own narration, the spokesman for the National Emergency Management Agency for the North-East Zonal Office, AbdulKadir Ibrahim, said four persons were killed at the IDPs camp and 44 persons were injured.

“Forty-four people were injured, four killed (two suicide bombers, two IDPs) at the Dalori IDP camp Maiduguri. The incident occurred about 21.30,” he said.
