Chelsea are very interested in adding club legend Frank Lampard to its first-team coaching staff.
According to The Sun, Chelsea hierarchy is eager to add the former England international to their backroom setup, with a view to him eventually managing the first team.
Frank Lampard has spent the past 18 months studying for his Uefa ‘A’ coaching licence and is said to be keen to enter management at the earliest opportunity.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is reportedly impressed with the former midfielder’s progress as an aspiring coach and could make him an employment offer as soon as next season.
Antonio Conte is expected to move on in the summer and the club will look to integrate Lampard, who won three Premier League titles at Chelsea, into a new coaching set up.
Luis Enrique is one of the favourites to replace Conte at Stamford Bridge and Lampard has recently turned down managerial approaches from lower league clubs.
