Duke And Duchess Of Cambridge Name Their Baby Boy “Louis Arthur Charles”

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have named their third child Louis Arthur Charles.

The couple’s second son was born at 11:01 BST on Monday at the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in London, weighing 8lb 7oz.

 

A tweet from Kensington Palace confirmed the baby would be known as His Royal Highness Prince Louis of Cambridge.

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their son Louis Arthur Charles.

“The baby will be known as His Royal Highness Prince Louis of Cambridge.”

The prince is the duke and duchess’s third child, the younger brother of Prince George and Princess Charlotte, and the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh’s sixth great-grandchild.

The child appears to have been named after Louis Mountbatten, the much-loved uncle of Prince Philip who was killed by an IRA bomb in 1979.

His full title is His Royal Highness Prince Louis Arthur Charles of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

But he will be known as HRH Prince Louis of Cambridge.
