From my perspective, it is always fun to surround yourself with people who have different drinking tastes as it usually offers you a variety of ideas and pool of drinks to choose from.
Some prefer their dark beers while others prefer dirty martinis. And then of course, there are people that just prefer to take drinks with lower alcoholic content or none at all. And of course people whp prefer to say cheers to another day on earth with a tall and bubbly glass of champagne or Prosecco.
This however is the point where things begin to get tricky. There is a possibility that every now and then when you are out with your friends and you order your signature drink, you cant help but notice the number of stares, groans and questionable faces that come your way.
You know they are thinking why on earth would a guy be drinking champagne or any other drink that has a lower alcohol content? All too many people consider it feminine.
The big question is why do we consider certain drinks “girly” drinks? It’s 2018. Drink whatever your heart desires. Even if it’s one of these “feminine” drinks because, well, they’re damn delicious.
Strawberry Daiquiri
This drink is one that quite a number of people have ascribed to be feminine. Maybe the fuss has to do with the strawberry décor on the rim of the glass. Whatever your awkward reason for thinking this drink can’t be enjoyed by males and females alike is, check yourself and throw it in the thrash can.
Mojito
This drink should remind you of a tropical paradise with sun, waves and beaches galore. It’s one of the most refreshing drinks that comes with a pinch of zest, and you really shouldn’t resist having a taste.
Sangria
Sangria is the drink of brunch asides the classic mimosa. This sweet tasting cocktail is fruity, juicy and filled with alcohol. Why would anyone want to resist having this on a Friday night and waking up on a Saturday to it?
Cosmopolitan
This is one drink that a lot of people will find debatable simply because of its pink colour and the fact that it is strong and is the symbol of Sex and the City. This cocktail has somewhat become a cult phenomenon but, the drink is by no means a “feminine’ one. Take a sip. I dare you. And get back to us in the morning.
Champagne
This is an all time favourite and you should by no means think its a feminine drink. Champagne is simple, classic and is on call for any celebration, big or small. Now take your time out and raise a glass of bubbly drinks.
