Daredevil Season 2 NYCC 2015 Poster Released Online

Just ahead of the 2015 New York Comic-Con (which will take place from October 8th-11th), Marvel CCO Joe Quesada has released a new poster for Daredevil season 2. The one-sheet will be available for picking up by those attending NYCC later this week....

Earlier this year, the Netflix-exclusive series Daredevil opened up the Marvel Cinematic Universe into a realm we had never quite seen before. While there were brief mentions of the alien attacks from the first Avengers film, the lighter spirit and tone that Marvel has become known for was all but gone, in exchange for a dark and gritty take on Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) attempting to save his home of Hell’s Kitchen from the grips of organized crime.Now that Season 1 of Daredevil has already been available for a few months, Marvel and Netflix are continuing their efforts to expand this particular part of the MCU. The next series will be Jessica Jones, starring Krysten Ritter as a former superheroine trying to live a somewhat normal life as a private investigator; that show will hit the streaming service later this year. Following that in 2016 will be a Luke Cage Netflix series and another season of Daredevil – with Marvel planning to kick it up a notch, for The Man Without Fear’s return.

To clarify, as it is noted on the poster itself, this is concept art only and not an official look at Daredevil’s suit for Season 2. Even then, it still does resemble his suit from the finale of Season 1 with what may be a few minor adjustments here-and-there. Surprisingly enough, one of the hottest topics of debate thus far has been Daredevil’s new costume for Season 2, with teaser images and behind-the-scenes photos making it seem as though his suit will be made with a little more red this time around. Perhaps Marvel will provide an official look at his new suit at NYCC 2015 to settle this “debate”.
While it’s unconfirmed whether or not new footage from Daredevil will be presented at NYCC, it has already been revealed by Marvel that both Jessica Jones and Daredevil will be there in a joint Netflix Original Series panel. With Jessica Jones getting closer and closer to its release, NYCC makes for the perfect occasion to debut a full-length trailer after multiple teasers have now made their way online.
As for Daredevil, it’s possible and maybe even likely that some footage from Season 2 could be showcased as well. Keep in mind, last year’s NYCC was where audiences got their first look at the new grounded take on Daredevil. While the footage shown there was not released online to the general public simultaneously, it did create a positive early buzz months ahead of the series’ debut.
With several new elements and characters like Jon Bernthal’s Punisher and Elodie Yung’s Elektra joining in for Season 2 of Daredevil, NYCC 2015 could act as the perfect venue to get positive buzz for their characters going early. Time will tell whether or not Marvel and Netflix show Daredevil season 2 footage at the event, but it seems as if they would be remiss not to.
