Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin (32) reacts after a basket during the first quarter against the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center.
The Los Angeles Clippers announced that Blake Griffin would miss at least two weeks with a partially torn quad.
The team’s official website revealed that the injury happened during Friday night’s game against the Lakers, and Griffin will miss at least the remainder of the team’s five game road trip. He’ll be re-evaluated in two weeks.
This is awful news for the Clippers. They’ve already struggled to get going this season, and losing one of their cornerstones will only make things worse. Griffin leads the Clippers with 23.2 points per game and is second in rebounds and assists. They’ll now be faced with a huge hole in their lineup, and they are in serious danger of lagging behind the best of the Western Conference.
