AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca has revealed Paris Saint-Germain tried to sign him this summer, only for a lack of places for non-EU players saw the deal collapse.

The Colombian striker, subject of three failed bids from West Ham, ended a summer of speculation by remaining at the San Siro and not reuniting with former Sevilla manager Unai Emery at the Parc des Princes.

“It’s true, PSG did contact my agent, but the matter did not progress because there were no more slots for non-EU players,” Bacca told Cadena Ser.

“I congratulate Paris Saint-Germain for choosing Emery. He was the most important Coach in my career and the best I’ve worked with too.

“He improved my performances, I felt at ease with him and he put a lot of confidence in me. There is also a strong friendship and perhaps that is the most important thing. I will always be grateful to him.

“In future I’d like to work with Emery again, but for now I am focused only on Milan.”
