Oby Ezekwesili Slams Top Media Outlets For Pitching Her Against Buhari | Vanguard Newspaper Issues A Retraction

Oby Ezekwesili, Co-founder of the #BringBackOurGirls Campaign has lashed out at several top media outlets for publishing spurious story against her.

Yesterday, in a flurry of tweets, Ezekwesili threatened to sue several prominent Newspapers for publishing a story claiming that she had ‘blamed President Muhammadu Buhari for Nigeria’s present economic crisis.’

On Monday, September 12, she tweeted:

Meanwhile, Vanguard Newspaper among others ‘issued an apology along with a retraction.’

On September 12, 2016 edition of Vanguard , we published a story purportedly from the whatsApp message of former Education Minister,Oby Ezekwesili, blaming President Muhammed Buhari for Nigeria’s economic woes.

We have since discovered that the Mrs. Ezekwesili did not make the comment .

WE hereby retract the comment and sincerely apologize to the Mrs. Oby Ezekwesili. It was not our intention to denigrate her or pitch her against the government.
