Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud has expressed his frustration after he was sent off alongside PSG’s Marco Verratti.
The incident occurred in the UEFA Champions League clash between PSG and Arsenal at the Parc de Princes.
Both players had already been booked previously, and referee Viktor Kassai sent both players off after they clashed off the ball.
According to Giroud, Verratti over exaggerated the situation, subsequently causing the sending offs.
“Being on a yellow card, I didn’t want to make waves,” Giroud said.

Giroud slams Verratti over-acting
“I obstructed Verratti, he threw himself to the ground and I don’t understand. Marquinhos pushed me from behind and I don’t know how Verratti falls a second time.
“It escalated the situation. It’s frustrating, especially since I don’t know if the referee saw what happened. I was really surprised at his behaviour.”
“The ball was on the other side, I did not see what happened,”Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger also said after. “I think the first yellow card [for Giroud] was very harsh already, it wasn’t a foul.”
“The second, he tells me he has done nothing at all and Olivier is honest so I believe him.
“And Verratti told me as well that he has done nothing, so I said look, ‘go together to see the referee and tell him you did nothing’.”
