Pepe says he is willing to wait until “the last millisecond” for Real Madrid to renew his contract at the club.
The 33-year-old Portugal defender is inside the final year of his deal at the Bernabeu, although recent reports from Spain have suggested that the European champions are set to hand him an extension.
The centre-back wants to retire in the Spanish capital but admits he would be content with a one-year contract too.
Speaking to Cadena SER, he said: “I am comfortable at Real Madrid. I have a contract and I will wait until the last millisecond for Madrid. There is time, there is one year.
“Yes, I would like to retire here, although I would accept one [more] year perfectly. I had offers from other teams for more years last year and I told my representative that I stay here.”
