#BBNaija 2017: A Rundown Of Week Five

The fifth week in the #BBNaija house saw Kemen finally becoming victorious in the Head of House task after a string of strong performances. The theme of the week was Fears, Phobias and Superstitions and big brother kicked things off immediately by preying on the biggest fear of the Housemates, Eviction.

During the Nomination shows of day 29, Biggie admonished the #BBNaija housemates for gossiping and conspiring before playing a clip of conspiracy between Kemen and Marvis. He then proceeded to give the former a strike and nullified all Nominations for the week, meaning he would benefit he one to choose who to Evict for the week.

The challenges of the week commenced the next day with Big Brother asking the #BBNaija Housemates to write down their secrets on a piece of paper before revealing that they had to eat a repulsive meal and hold it down to make sure no one found them out. Both Debbie-Rise and TBoss struggled with their meals, with the latter initially refusing to eat, everyone however managed to pass through the challenge.

The next day also saw the housemates passing through another grueling challenge in form of the Dark Bath Task which required the #BBNaija housemates to sit helplessly as buckets of cold and stinking mess were dumped on their heads by the Big Brother Ninjas.

All the Housemates were able to brave the stench for the greater good to ensure victory. As a reward for their bravery, Mr Ibu paid them a visit and even helped them organise and present a short play.

The grand finale of the week’s task was on Day 32 and the #BBNaija housemates presented a play inspired by childhood superstitions. They performed ‘The Bush Baby’s Mat’ and ‘Terrors of The Night’ in their two groups and their performances and storytelling impressed Biggie so much that they won 100% of their wager for a second week in a row.

Actress and philanthropist, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde also made a visit to the house to talk about the impending support for a cause to provide education to more young girls in the third world countries – this spurred the housemates to talk about how sexism affected their individual lives and how they intend to help or are helping in making sure more girls grow into well educated women.

ThinTallTony was back as winner of the arena games after losing out to Kemen based on a technicality in the previous week. He also appeared to take a liking to TBoss this week spending several hours trying to sweep her off her feet with compliments, massages and all manner of dirty talk. It is left to be seen how a defiant TBoss will handle this new and strange attention.

Efe’s birthday was on Saturday (Day 34) and Big brother treated him to a huge cake aswell as a birthday song performed by the Saxokay Jazz band later in the evening.

There were however heated fights before the commencement of the party between TBoss and Bally, Efe and Uriel as well as Efe and TBoss afterwards.

The reality of a possible eviction for any of the #BBNaija housemates may be attributed to a rise in tension among the Housemates.
