Bayern Munich target Leon Goretzka has denied that there is an agreement in place that will see him join the German champions in 2018.

Speaking at a training camp in Austria, the Schalke man stated in quotes carried by Bild: “I have no agreement [with Bayern], that’s utter nonsense.”

“I understand, of course, that this subject is keeping people busy. I have made it clear that if a decision is made, I will announce it.

“Seeing as no decision has been reached yet, I can’t tell you anything new. I have not set a deadline. The decision depends on many factors and it’s not easy.

“I intend to take my time and not get stressed by it all.”

The statement comes as a response to comments made by German journalist Raphael Honigstien on twitter, where he said that Gotetzka had a deal in place with the German record champions.

Goretzka, whose contract with Schalke runs out next summer, has been linked to several clubs across Europe, including the likes of Arsenal and Real Madrid.

Goretzka scored five goals in 30 Bundesliga outings last campaign for Schalke and, while fans of the German side will be hoping to retain his services, it seems likely the midfielder will depart before the end of the window.
