Ross Barkley denied the chance to join Chelsea on deadline day and has rubbished talks he underwent a medical at Stamford Bridge.
The midfielder was in London to discuss a transfer to Chelsea, and a deal of £35 million was believed to have been agreed between the club’s.
Only for Barkley to make a U-turn on the deal and he has moved to clarify why he changed his mind.
“Contrary to a number of reports in the press, I did not undertake a medical with any club at any point.
“I simply decided that due to my injury, it would be best to make a decision on my future and assess all my options in January when fully fit”
