Arturo Vidal has stated in no uncertain terms that he is considering retirement, after Chile failed to qualify for the world cup.

Chile lost 3-0 to Brazil in he last game of the qualifiers, finishing sixth on the table and missing out on Russia and the playoff position.

The loss has hit a talented Chile squad hard, with manager Pizzi announcing his resignation and Vidal following that up with talks of retirement.

“Thank you lads, for everything, for all these years together… for teaching me and for showing a country that with effort and work anything is possible in life,” said the 30-year-old, who told reporters he was ready for retirement after defeat to Bolivia during the previous international break.
