Ambassadors College, Royal Regency School, Dansol High School, Others Book Their Spots At The CLB Academy Spelling Bee Competition Grand Finale

After a successful completion of the first preliminary stage i.e. Primary School Category, CLB Academy Spelling Bee Competition returned last weekend for its second preliminary stage i.e. Junior Secondary School Category with over 10 schools in attendance and a total of 55 students.

The competition commenced with an opening address by the Host of the Day; Victoria Nkong CEO Qtaby Events who then introduced The Jury for the day. They include Mr Efe Omorogbe; renowned journalist, CEO Buckwyld Media & and manager to the Legendary Tuface Idibia a.k.a 2Baba, Mr Oladapo Oyewumi; CEO/Founder Centre for Law & Business, and Mr Oye Akindeinde; Regional Director West Africa, Boom Music Player, Co-founder 360NOBs. The pronouncer of the day Dr. Blessing Ntamu; Lecturer, Department of Educational Foundation, University of Calabar, Author, Host, Psychologist Radio Show, CRBC Radio, Calabar, made a short speech urging the contestants to pay more attention to studying and imbibe a healthy reading culture and spend lesser time on social media.

Schools present at the Second Preliminary Stage includes; Isolog Academy, Royal Regency Schools, Ambassadors College, Ruling Stars Schools, Straitgate College, Covenant Child Academy, Lekki British International School, Princeton College, Dansol High School, Rainbow College, Straitgate High School, Jesilo School, Brain Breeders School, Attwool School, Debiniss College

It was a tough competition at the Junior Secondary School Category as all contestants competed fiercely amongst each other to qualify for the Grand Finale. 10 finalists emerged from 5 rounds and will proceed to the The Grand Finale on Dec 9, 2017 at Landmark Event Centre, Oniru, Lagos.

The Grand Finale will feature a special French spelling category for Junior and Senior Secondary School contestants which will test the contestant’s French spelling skills and also the use of words in French. The winner of this special category will be rewarded with an all-expense paid complementary trip to a French country. The final preliminary stage which will feature a continuation of the Junior Secondary School category and the Senior Secondary School Category will hold on Saturday Dec 2, 2017 at the Governance Hall of Centre for Law and Business, Victoria Island.
