Palermo are weighing up a move for former Crystal Palace striker Marouane Chamakh, according to Corriere dello Sport.
The 32-year-old Morocco international is understood to be on trial at West Brom following his release from Selhurst Park this summer
But Corriere dello Sport claim Palermo may swoop for the former Arsenal frontman, bringing him to Sicily from under the Baggies’ noses.

Palermo are suffering a lack of goals in attack and are desperate to reinforce their striking options; they are second bottom in Serie A and have scored once in their opening three league games.

But with the transfer window having slammed shut, the Italian side are restricted to chasing free agents.

Chamakh, 32, was last at Premier League side Crystal Palace, having joined the Eagles from Arsenal in 2013.

He initially penned a one-year deal at Selhurst Park, before then putting pen to paper on a contract to take him through to the summer of 2016.

Chamakh struggled to make an impact with the Eagles and was released upon the expiry of his contract earlier this summer.
