Pep Guardiola would like to bring Dani Alves to Manchester City, according to Sport Mediaset.
It’s reported that the City boss has contacted the Juve player, but it won’t be easy to bring him over to England as Juve have no intention to sell him
City would prefer him as a free agent, although the defender’s contract at the Serie A club does not expire until next year.
The former Barcelona star is now 33 and turning out for Juventus – but is said to be keen on playing in the Premier League before he hangs up his boots.
City will address their problems in defence in this summer’s transfer window, but one of their issues is that all four of their current full backs – Pablo Zabaleta, Bacary Sagna, Gael Clichyand Aleks Kolarov – are now over 30.
Dani Alves joined Juve as a free agent last summer, but has not nailed down a place with the Serie A side – in fact he has been shunted out of the team in favour of Stephan Lichtsteiner, also strongly linked with City in the past.
But Alves went on as a substitute in the 2-0 Champions League win over Porto in midweek, and scored.
