Stoke City manager Paul Lambert has informed midfielder Ibrahim Afellay that he is no longer welcome at the club’s training ground for the remainder of the season
Ibrahim Afellay has not player for Stoke City in the Premier League since the end of December, and has not been involved in any matchday squad since Lambert replaced Mark Hughes as head coach.
According to The Telegraph, Lambert feels that the former Barcelona midfielder is a bad influence on the rest of the squad, with his attitude deemed ‘poor and disruptive’.
Afellay has now been banished from the club’s Clayton Woods complex, which suggests that his career with the Premier League outfit has finished.
Afellay joined Stoke from Barcelona in 2015, and has made over 50 appearances for the Potters in all competitions.
His contract at the Bet365 Stadium will run until the end of next season.
